The Social Democrats have been fighting for a better Denmark and a better world since 1871, based on their three goals: striving for individual freedoms and security; ensuring people have the opportunity to live in a just democratic society with social, environmental and economic sustainability; and to spread democracy, democratic socialism, global equality, international solidarity and security. The Party policy on Health supports free and equal access to health in Denmark and has three benchmarks: Time (e.g. having more nurses, treatment on time, less centralised control, etc); Proximity (e.g. local hospitals to be closer to citizens,); Equality (e.g. a healthcare system for everyone).
