The Social Democrats have been fighting for a better Denmark and a better world since 1871, based on their three goals: striving for individual freedoms and security; ensuring people have the opportunity to live in a just democratic society with social, environmental and economic sustainability; and to spread democracy, democratic socialism, global equality, international solidarity and security. The Party’s Economic Justice Policy proposes a number of initiatives to increase economic justice in Denmark. These include: regulation of wages in top wage earners; targeting inheritance tax; increase income tax in certain areas; and high levels of support for trade unions.
