The Green Party United States (GPUS) was founded in 1984 on a foundation of 10 Key Values. The GPUS Platform consists of Four Pillars: Democracy; Social Justice; Ecological Sustainability; and Economic Justice and Sustainability. The GPSU policy on criminal justice, states the party’s position: reduce the prison population, invest in rehabilitation, end the failed war on drugs. It also looks at alternatives to incarceration, prison conditions and treatment, criminal justice reform, and police accountability.
