The Green Party United States (GPUS) was founded in 1984 on a foundation of 10 Key Values. The GPUS Platform consists of Four Pillars: Democracy; Social Justice; Ecological Sustainability; and Economic Justice and Sustainability. The GPUS policy on Measuring Economic Health states that there is a fundamental conflict between economic growth and ecological health where economic growth on its own is a dangerous goal. The policy seeks to reinforce lifestyle choices that reinforce a general equilibrium of humans with nature.
