The Green Party United States (GPUS) was founded in 1984 on a foundation of 10 Key Values. The GPUS Platform consists of Four Pillars: Democracy; Social Justice; Ecological Sustainability; and Economic Justice and Sustainability. The GPUS policy on Local Economic Development focusses on reforms that give communities more control over their own local economies, supporting local production, local manufacturing, local sales, local recycling wherever possible.
