The Green Party United States (GPUS) was founded in 1984 on a foundation of 10 Key Values. The GPUS Platform consists of Four Pillars: Democracy; Social Justice; Ecological Sustainability; and Economic Justice and Sustainability. The GPUS policy on Energy advocates a rapid reduction in energy consumption through energy efficiency and a transition away from fossil and nuclear power towards cleaner, renewable, local energy sources.
