Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand: Education Policy (EN)

Overview and Use Case

The Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand is driven by people who know that protecting the planet and supporting communities go hand in hand. The party was formed in 1990 and believes government must do more to protect the planet, honoring the thousands of years of traditional and local knowledge to support a safe climate and healthy communities. The Education Policy promotes a well-funded public education system, where state schools are not reliant on donations, fees or fundraising. Schools should be community hubs, providing inter alia health services, internet access, cultural services, and adult education programmes. Early childhood education should be funded and staff should be fully qualified. Indigenous education should be incorporated throughout the education system at all levels.
