This primer is one of five primers being produced on different aspects of gender and democratic governance by the United Nations Development Programme Bureau for Development Policy. The aim is to support UNDP/BDP Democratic Governance Group staff and networks in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment through their programme and policy advice.
