The ANC policy on social transformation aims to build a better life for all. The critical responsibilities are to transform society and prioritise the rights of women, children and people with disabilities as well as the previously disadvantaged; and to reduce discrimination and violence against women; to reduce discrimination and violence against children. The policy reinforces ANC branches as effective agents of change as leaders in communities helping to drive the radical social transformation agenda. It deals with the safety of women and children, eradication of substance abuse and gangsterism, promotion of sports, arts and culture, and empowerment of vulnerable groups.
