The Social Democratic Party’s ideological position is based on democratic socialism, and the belief in democracy and the struggle for social equity. The document ‘A fair direction for Denmark’ is a summary of a political understanding between the Social Democratic Party, Radikale Venstre, SF and Enhedslisten which outlines the 2019 elected government’s proposed policies. Section 2: Denmark must be the best country in the world in which to be a child, prescribes what the government will do, including: Improvement of conditions for children and employees in daycare institutions; combatting child poverty; strengthening the primary school system; focus and investment in education and traineeships; promoting the well-being of children and young people; ensuring educational programmes across the country; and strengthening future solutions within educational and research institutions.
